2019 Nissan Altima Gallery

Nissan's 2019 Altima is hoping to claw you from your crossover SUV, and it's counting on all-wheel drive to do it. The automaker took the wraps off its newest midsize sedan at the New York International Auto Show 2018, a more grown-up car that is longer, lower, and wider than before. It's also more technologically-advanced.

Under the hood, the old V6 engine is gone. In its place is a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo with variable compression ratios, which allows for similar power output from the larger engine but with a big boost in efficiency. Indeed, Nissan is predicting a double-digit increase in economy numbers over the old model.

Inside, there's Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. Nissan is offering ProPILOT Assist on its upper-trim models, which can handle speed, braking, and steering on single-lane highways. The regular 2.5-liter inline-four engine can be had with FWD or AWD.
