Hyundai has brought its new 2019 Veloster to the Detroit Auto Show 2018, not just in one form, but three. The new three-door coupe gets sharper, meatier styling, with extra heft around the wheel arches and a lower stance. The grille has been made more aggressive, too.
The entry-spec car is still a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, but it has brought a turbocharged friend. That’s a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbo, bumping up power and throwing in the option of a seven-speed auto with paddle-shifters alongside the six-speed manual. Best of all, though, is the 2019 Veloster N.
First of the automaker’s N series of performance-minded cars, it gets a Golf GTI-besting 2.0-liter turbo. Exclusive styling differences join beefier brakes and tweaks to suspension, steering, and more. There’s also an N mode for the track.
