The SUV business is booming, and Jaguar’s F-PACE is here to take advantage of it. In F-PACE 35t form that means the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 from the F-TYPE, here tuned for 340 horsepower. Combined with an eager 8-speed transmission it puts the F-PACE somewhere between crossover and sports car.
On the outside, there’s the gaping grille familiar from the XJ, but a roofline more in keeping with Jaguar’s coupes. 19-inch tires help with driving comfort, while the adaptive LED lights on this Vision Package-equipped car look and perform well. AWD is standard, typically delivering a rear-wheel bias.
Inside, the cabin is mixed. Jaguar’s InControl Touch infotainment system is fine, but you’ll wish you upgraded to the InControl Touch Pro system which comes with a bigger touchscreen, faster processor, and fully-digital driver’s instrumentation. Interior space is good thanks to the sizable exterior dimensions, though, and we saw an EPA-matching 20 mpg on the trip computer.
