2015 Ford Mustang GT gallery

Ford's Mustang owns a particular place in the heart of many American drivers, not to mention automotive lore, but the sixth-generation car finally promises the driving experience to match the history. Gone is the outdated solid rear axle, replaced by an independent rear suspension setup that's no longer embarrassed in the parking lot next to all the other muscle cars.

Still kicking hard is Ford's 5.0-liter V8, in Mustang GT form good for a meaty 425 HP and 400 lb-ft of torque. The 6-speed manual comes as standard, and though you'll get slightly better economy from the optional automatic, purists will enjoy the hefty shifter and the 7k redline.

Spec'ing out this V8 monster isn't cheap, though, and though the GT Fastback starts out at $36,300, once you add the Recaro seats, GT Performance Package wheels, and other niceties, you're looking at something not far short of $46k.
