Guitar Hero's hardest song makes a comeback

If you're a fan of the Guitar Hero series, there is one song that will no doubt make your finger hurt, just from thinking about it. Through the Fire and Flames by DragonForce is easily the most difficult song to master in the entire series. And soon you'll have a chance to prove yourself once again in Guitar Hero 5.

If you've not checked out Guitar Hero 5, the DLC system is quite different than what you're likely used to with the older games, or Rock Band. Instead of purchasing individual tracks, there is a microtransaction system that allows you to play "live" events via Guitar Hero TV. And the newest GHTV event is going to be the toughest one ever.

The event kicks off today, and has you playing five songs that the team specifically picked to challenge the best players. You'll start off with tracks like Hangar 18, Strife, Ghost Walking, and Cry of Achilles. Then you'll move on to the toughest of the tough, Through the Fire and Flames.

Don't expect your muscle memory to get you through this one. The track has been completely redesigned for the new six-button layout. The event runs until February 8th, after which time you'll see Through the Fire and Flames added to the regular GHTV rotation.
