Groqit scans barcodes, keeps your purchases in your pocket

Sometimes it's hard to remember if you have already purchased a product or not, especially when you're out window shopping or if you have an extensive DVD library. However, now you can keep track of all of your purchases, whether it be DVDs, books, CDs or what have you. Groqit makes keeping track of your product purchases a snap.

Groqit works by scanning and reading the barcodes on your purchases and storing them in the device's 128MB storage. You can also create categories within the device to better manage your purchases. And don't worry about running out of room. This pen-shaped device can store more than a million barcodes.

So, the next time you're out and about, you can quickly scan the barcode of a potential purchase to double check if you have it or not. Now, unless you're super forgetful, I'm not sure this device will be that practical. The only time I could see this being practical is if you have a huge library of movies or books. Once you've scanned products, you can log onto the Groqit website to have the barcodes translated into actual product names. Groqit costs $95 plus $4.95 a month for the translation service.
