Gravity Rush: The Animation ties first game to upcoming sequel

If you're a fan of the first Gravity Rush video game, Studio Khara has a treat for you: Gravity Rush: The Animation. This animation, which was previously announced with a launch after Christmas, aims to bridge the gap between the first Gravity Rush game and the upcoming game sequel, Gravity Rush 2. The animation is split into two parts, which were recently released as a full single video.

Also called Gravity Rush: Overture, this anime has been produced by the same studio behind Rebuild of Evangelion, among other anime. The first Gravity Rush is a bit aged at this point, having first been released back in 2012 for the PS Vita. We were supposed to get the second game this past October, but the release date was later bumped to next month.

PlayStation's Overture video above features both parts A and B together. In it, Kat battles against an enemy seeking to 'unravel the fabric of the universe,' but you'll need to watch it yourself to find out more. Part B starts at time 07:31 if you'd like to jump straight to it.

If you haven't played the first title yet, you can grab a remastered version for the PlayStation 4 (aptly dubbed "Remastered"), while the second game will launch as a PlayStation 4 exclusive title. If you're located in the U.S., U.K. or Canada, you'll be able to grab Gravity Rush 2 starting on January 20, while those in Europe and Australia can get it two days earlier.
