Google's new Pixel 3 teaser shows an absurdly small phone

We're just a few days away from the reveal of the Pixel 3, and in the lead up to its event, Google has decided to have a little fun. The company has released a new teaser for the Pixel 3, and this one shows a laughably small phone. Dubbed the "Pixel Mini," the device is likely far too small for most people, though it isn't hard to imagine at least a few phone connoisseurs out there wanting to actually own one.

The silly teaser was shared on the Made by Google Instagram account late last night. It shows a progressively smaller selection of smartphones, with the smallest clocking in at just over an inch long. Needless to say, we won't be seeing anything quite this small at Google's event next week, as this teaser is clearly a joke.

"We've heard rumors of a mini Pixel," the Instagram post reads. "Which begs the question how 'mini' is too mini? We have a feeling the next one will be a bit bigger than this. Tune in on 10/9 to see for yourself."

This lighthearted teaser is likely mocking Pixel Ultra conspiracy theories that started cropping up earlier this summer. The Pixel Ultra, some claimed, was a notch-less Pixel that Google had been planning in secret and would reveal as a surprise announcement during its event on October 9. Those rumors likely aren't true, and this teaser was almost certainly created in response to them.

In any case, we'll be covering Google's Pixel reveal event as it happens, so be sure to check back here with SlashGear on October 9 for everything you need to know from the event. It should be a big one, so don't miss it!
