Google flight searches to show if WiFi, power outlets available

With in-flight WiFi becoming more and more common, and recent regulation changes allowing the use of personal devices during take-off and landing, air travel has become that much more tech-friendly to travelers. However, it's still pretty much a toss-up if your airline or flight will have amenities like WiFi or in-seat power outlets available for you to use. But thanks to a new partner ship between Google and Routehappy, checking the availability of these services while planning your trip is now just a bit easier.

Routehappy is a flight-rating service that collects data on airlines, aircrafts, cabin, routes, and schedule, providing users with what it calls a "happiness rating." Now when conducting a flight search on Google, data from Routehappy will be displayed in the results for each flight.

Among the tech-essential amenities that will be clearly displayed are whether the flight has WiFi available and power outlets in each seat. Extra information includes an estimate of how many inches of legroom is available for passengers.

The deal with Routehappy extends to Google searches worldwide, and should be appearing in results now. The amenities data is also available for international flights, so now you'll get a better idea of how you can entertain yourself on your next vacation to another continent. But good luck with those in-flight meals.
