Gold Mario amiibo tipped by Walmart banner

Rumors of their demise have been greatly exaggerated, apparently. Nintendo's amiibo figures have proven wildly successful even if a few among them did fail to strike the fancy of gamers' hearts. We recently got a look at the sales numbers, which show that Link was the most popular (Mario was #2) and that Nintendo has sold about 5.7 million of the figurines. Not content with letting demand wane, and in light of recent rumors about spruced up amiibos, a new Mario figurine has surfaced.

The banner was spotted by Twitter user Mason Knight , and it hawks Mario Party 10 for the Wii U. The important part is what is featured in the bottom right corner.

There's a "Gold Amiibo Edition" Mario figurine, and it is joined by the command to "Make This Easter Golden!". It's a bundle, it would seem, and it is marked with a tag showing it'll be available exclusively available at Walmart — presumably starting on Easter, though that part isn't entirely clear.

The price tag and such particulars aren't available at this point, though those details will probably be surfacing in the near future. If the past is any indication, this particular bundle will go fast as collectors swoop in to grab that precious golden Mario.
