Genovation Cars To Bring Electric Corvette C7 To CES 2018

You may recognize the name Genovation as the company who rolled out the all-electric Corvette C6 back in 2016 and used it to crush a land speed record. Fast forward many months and Genovation Cars has announced that it will be bringing a pre-production version of an all-electric Corvette C7 to CES 2018.

If you aren't a massive Corvette fan, the C7 is the latest version of the Vette. The company claims that its fancy C7 EV will go even faster than the 209-mph land speed record the company set with its C6. The new Vette is called the Genovation Cars GXE and it is built on the Corvette Grand Sport.

All the engine parts are removed, and a twin-motor electric powertrain is crammed inside with a 60-kWh battery pack. The car promises to hit 60mph in less than 3 seconds and exceed 220 mph. The GXE is aiming for 130 miles of driving range.

The original prototype electric Corvette from the company aimed at getting two 12.9-mile laps around the Nürburgring out of its 44-kWh battery pack. Th GXE is insanely expensive so only the rich need apply.

The car will sell for $750,000 and the company only plans to build 75 of the cars. If you have that much loot burning a hole in your pocket, the car will ship in Q4 2019. I'd hold out for the new Tesla Roadster which is aiming to be much faster all around and much cheaper.
