Galaxy Tab E lands at AT&T May 6

AT&T has announced that it will have a new tablet for customers to check out from Samsung on May 6. The new tablet is called the Galaxy Tab E and it will be offered for $0 down and $10 monthly when added to a new or existing Mobile Share Value Plan. The tablet has an 8-inch HD screen and features an integrated DIRECTV experience that allows you to set your DVR while out of the home.

The tablet is compact weighing in at 12 ounces adding little to the bulk that you have to schlep around with you. The tablet also has a large battery with 5000 mAh of power good for up to 13 hours of use on 4G LTE connections. A microSD card slot supports internal storage expansion over the 16GB of internal storage.

AT&T says that the OS right out of the box is Android 6.0. The tablet measures 8.35" x 4.96" x 0.35" and has a 5MP autofocus rear camera. The front camera is a 2.0MP unit and the rear camera is good for recording video at 720p resolution. Internal memory is 1.5GB of RAM with a quad core 1.3GHz processor. The tablet supports just about all the audio formats that are out there and has an integrated speaker.

The tablet has the Samsung KNOX security that businesses need to protect their sensitive data providing security features at the hardware level. "The Samsung Galaxy Tab E offers a variety of unique experiences, such as the integrated DIRECTV experience, at a great value," said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Device Marketing and Developer Services, AT&T Entertainment Group. "For the price, our customers are getting a portable tablet with high quality specs and innovative solutions that can only be found with AT&T."
