Galaxy S10 leaks turn into a flood

It’s a little over a month to go before the formal announcement of Samsung two heavy hitters for 2019. While the Galaxy F/Galaxy Fold largely remains a mystery, the Galaxy S10 trio or quartet seems to be all but known at this point. Still, there’s plenty of wiggle room for a few more last minute deets. And by “a few”, we really mean more of a tweet storm revealing all you might want to know about the Galaxy S10.

Based on XDA’s Max Weinbach’s tweets, the Galaxy S10 will have a lot more in common with the Galaxy Note 9 in terms of overall design, like adopting the same segmented speaker grille style, the same wallpaper gradient effect, and having the flash and heart rate sensor separated instead of stacked. Curiously, he describes the phone’s back as glossy, like the 2017 Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 rather than the more matte design of last year’s flagships.

There will be a somewhat overwhelming combination of cameras, depending on the model. The “normal” camera will be a wide-angle 12 megapixel f/1.5-2.4 dual aperture sensor with autofocus and OIS. The second is a 123-degree ultra-wide angle 16 megapixel f/1.9 camera with no AF or OIS. Only the Galaxy S10+ will get a third, a telephoto camera with 13 megapixels and AF and OIS.

As for the memory configurations, the leaks sound generous, almost too generous. The Galaxy S10 Lite will get 4 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage. The Galaxy S10 itself goes up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. The Galaxy S10+ increases the options with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128/256/512 GB storage options. But it’s the Galaxy S10+ 5G that will really take the cake with at most 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The foldable phone will supposedly also have that many.

Weinbach cautions that some of these are still just based on rumors, though they are pretty much what we’ve been hearing about for a while now. Needless to say, the Galaxy S10 phones are going to be huge in features, so expect it also to be huge in price. The Galaxy S10 is scheduled to debut February 20 alongside Samsung’s foldable phone.
