Galaxy Note 8 leaked brochure tells all

By the time Samsung announces the Galaxy Note 8 next week, there will really be nothing left to be surprised about. While it isn't exactly spilling most of the information the way LG does, almost every aspect of the Galaxy Note 8 has been leaked, some even coming from official sources. Like this marketing brochure snagged from Samsung Australia, which confirms the highlight features of the pen-enabled phablet just days before its official reveal.

The Galaxy Note 8 will be notable, if you can forgive the pun, for a couple of things. First is the fact that people will be curious if it will be as explosive as its predecessor. Then there's also how Samsung will implement its Infinity Display for a device that is meant to be written on. With a stylus, of course.

But for practical uses, the Galaxy Note 8's most curious feature will be its dual cameras, the first of its kind on a Samsung device. Samsung has already been laying the groundwork with its new ISOCELL branding. The dual cameras on the Galaxy Note 8 will boast of 2x optical zoom. At least one of them will have an f/1.7 aperture, so, yes, LG can keep its crown for now.

Aside from the dual cameras, the S Pen will be the other major feature that will differentiate the Galaxy Note 8 from the Galaxy S8+. Like on the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7, users will be able to write notes even when the screen is off, or create GIFs from videos to send to friends. The brochure makes no mention of how much levels of pressure the Galaxy Note 8's pen supports, but the Galaxy Note 7 already boasted of 4,096 levels.

The pamphlet also confirms the 6.3-inch QHD+ screen, larger than the Galaxy S8+'s 6.2 inches, wireless charging, and IP68 dust and water proof rating. There's also an emphasis placed on making it dirt simple to switch from an older Samsung Galaxy phone to the Galaxy Note using its USB-C cable and a provided adapter. Sadly, it seems that Australia will be limited to only Black or Gold color options, so it's still a puzzle where Blue options will be available.
