Fortnite's next weapon is the Quad Launcher

We've found ourselves at the beginning of a new week, which means a Fortnite patch is imminent. Though we won't know the finer details of the update until after it's gone live and Epic has published the patch notes, we do know what the next weapon will be. Say hello to the Quad Launcher, a weapon that sounds particularly deadly.

As you've probably already guessed from the name, the Quad Launcher is a rocket launcher capable of shooting four rockets in quick succession. Epic has started teasing the Quad Launcher on Fortnite's in-game news pop-up that appears when you boot up the game, which means that it should be arriving in this week's patch.

Specifics about the Quad Launcher won't be available until the patch arrives, but for now, we can make a few educated guesses about it. It'll likely be a relatively rare item given its capabilities, and it's unlikely that you'll be able to fire all four of its rockets at once. In fact, the teaser Epic has published suggests as much, as the flavor text says that players will be able to "quickly fire" 4 rockets.

It's also probable that a rocket fired from the Quad Launcher won't do as much damage as one fired from a standard Launcher. It's easy to see Epic dropping explosion damage to balance the fact that the Quad Launcher allows you to quickly fire off four rockets, so don't expect the the weapon to pack the same kind of punch as its one-shot-at-a-time brother.

As for all the rest, we'll just have to wait for Epic to deliver this week's patch. At the time of this writing, Epic hasn't announced a period of downtime for Fortnite, so the patch may not go live until Wednesday morning. We'll keep an eye out for more information, so stay tuned.
