Fortnite Shopping Cart: This is it!

It's finally time – the time has come for the elusive Shopping Cart to arrive in Fortnite! With the ability to ride and coast, push, or push whilst someone else rides, no one is safe from its eternal pain delivery. This is a vehicle for Fortnite – but it's not motorized. Users aren't going to be able to chase after their opponents unless they happen to be at the bottom of a hill. This isn't going to change the whole game, it's just going to make the game feel a little bit more fun.

Fortnite is supposed to be devoid of vehicles! That's what Epic Games said, and that's what we expect. But with the release of a shopping cart, it would seem that they're bending the rules just a tiny bit. With this shopping cart, users are going to be able to roll out, and roll out in style.

You'll see the Shopping Cart appearance notification in-game as early as this morning. Some lucky players started seeing it earlier this weekend! As such, it'll likely be in play early this week!

First – shopping carts already exist in the game. There's a lovely little dirt track in the Eastern reaches of the Season 4 map with a group of four shopping carts. These carts aren't much use at the moment, but they do show what playable elements will be used in the near future. Now with Epic releasing an update which confirms the existence of these carts as usable as vehicles, it's only days before we see them pushed in real life.

Shopping carts were discovered by Fortnite players as early as April of 2018. Back then, sound effects were found. See the following video at around the 6:40 mark to hear what these shopping carts will sound like. Spoiler alert: They sound pretty much like shopping carts.

To use the cart, you'll have two options: ride or push. Once in the cart, a user will be allowed to coast, but only once they've been pushed. Unless, of course, they're already on a hill when they get in. It'll be one whole heck of a lot of fun watching the physics on this one.
