Fortnite Season X battle pass detailed with missions and gifting

A new Fortnite season is here, and as always, that means there's a new battle pass to buy and complete. Like every battle pass that came before it, the one for season X has 100 tiers of loot to progress through, with various skins, dances, loading screens, pickaxes, and pets to unlock along the way. There are a few new changes to be aware of before you pick up this battle pass, so let's dive in to what's new in season X.

With the new season, Epic is introducing battle pass missions. These are described as "thematic objectives that will send you on adventures across the island." Complete them and you'll unlock more rewards beyond what the battle pass already gives you, so it sounds like these bonus missions will be good for anyone who burns through the battle pass quickly.

You can also now gift a battle pass to a friend, but you've only got a limited time to do so. You'll be able to gift battle passes to friends regardless of the platforms you're playing on, but you'll only be able to do so until August 15th. The first time you gift a battle pass to a friend, you'll get a "unique Gift Box" to keep for yourself, though Epic doesn't say what's in it.

Buying season X's battle pass for yourself will immediately unlock the X-Lord and Catalyst outfits. You'll then work your way through a variety of futuristic unlocks that reference Fortnite's past in many cases, and if you make it all the way to level 100, you'll get the Ultima Knight Outfit, which looks pretty cool in the trailer you see above.

As always, the battle pass for season X runs 950 V-Bucks, but if you complete the whole thing, you'll earn the cost of the battle pass back. You can look through all of the loot contained in Fortnite's season X battle pass over on the official Fortnite site, but otherwise, head down to the comments section and let us know what you think of this batch of new items!
