Here's when Fortnite season 6 begins

Fortnite's 5th season is currently in the midst of its 10th week, which means that the end is near. There'll be no time to mourn the end of season 5, though, as Epic is looking to kick off season 6 quickly. Today, the company revealed when season 6 will begin, and it also announced a nice little perk for those who have yet to finish their season 5 challenges.

According to the official Fortnite Twitter account, season 6 will begin on September 27. That's less than a week away, so you've only got a few more days to complete the challenges and unlock all of your Battle Pass goodies for season 5. While many players have probably already completed those challenges (or soon will, at any rate), Epic is going to provide all players with an XP bonus for that final push.

This weekend, all Fortnite players will receive 400% bonus match XP, which will provide a huge boost toward wrapping up those few remaining challenges. The XP boost will be available all weekend long, ending on Monday, September 24 at 8 AM Eastern.

At the moment, we're not sure what kind of theme season 6 will have. Hopefully we'll learn more about that map-traversing cube, which recently settled in Loot Lake and transformed it into a mass of purple, bouncy goo. Though the cube has reached its destination, we still don't know why it appeared in the first place, so maybe season 6 will shed some light on its arrival in Fortnite.

We can probably expect Epic to begin teasing season 6 soon, giving us some hints about incoming events and skins. We'll keep an ear to the ground for those and we'll update you when we hear more, so stay tuned.
