Fortnite Patch Notes Introduce Rift-To-Go, Score Royale LTM
Fortnite's weekly patch might be arriving a little late this time around, but as always, it's still bringing the goods along with it. As the in-game teases foretold, this patch adds the new Rift-To-Go item to the game. Earlier in the week, we were left guessing how this item might function, but today's patch notes lay everything out for us.
The Rift-To-Go, as the name suggests, is a portable rift you can carry with you to use as needed. Using one will open a Rift that lasts for 10 seconds, giving your teammates enough time to jump with you. However, that also means that enemies will be able to follow you through the Rift, so be mindful of where and when you're using it.
Epic's patch notes explain that the Rift-To-Go is an epic-rarity item that drops one at a time and has a max stack size of 2. You'll find it in chests, vending machines, supply drops, and llamas, so keep an eye out for it as it could be the difference between winning a fight and exiting the match early.
This week's patch also introduces a new limited-time game mode called Score Royale. In this mode, you win by earning points – 2000 points in solo, 3000 in duos, and 4500 in squads, to be exact – and those points are earned in a variety of ways. Have a look at the table below to see how you'll earn points toward a victory.
Other changes in this patch include shortened equip time cooldowns for the Pump Shotgun, along with slight tweaks to items like the Double Barrel, Clingers, and Bouncers.
