Fortnite patch brings Port-a-Fortress and a new LTM

A new patch has launched for Fortnite, and just as expected, it adds a new item called the Port-a-Fortress to the game. The Port-a-Fortress functions just like the existing Port-a-Fort does, but this time around, everything is bigger. How much bigger? Epic shared a new trailer today that answers that very question.

As you can see, the Port-A-Fortress is basically just a super-sized Port-a-Fort. The structure it generates stands quite a bit taller than the one created by the Port-a-Fort, and it seems to be much more reinforced than the Port-a-Fort as well. Epic has also lined the Port-a-Fortress with Bouncers "for an easy exit," so you can use it to launch an attack into a group of enemies if you feel so inclined.

The Port-a-Fortress is a legendary item that will drop from vending machines, chests, supply drops, and llamas, so don't expect to find it that often. It builds instantly as well, so it'll be a good way to quickly throw down some cover if an opponent is out-building you.

Joining the Port-a-Fortress is a new limited-time game mode called Soaring Solos. This is mostly the same as a normal Battle Royale game, with one key difference: you can now deploy your glider when you're falling from a large height, so expect to see a lot of players gliding around the battlefield.

The last notable addition in this week's patch is the arrival a new Playground item called the Spiky Stadium. Inspired by the structures creative users have made in Playground mode, the Spiky Stadium is an item that's found in red supply drops and creates a 7x11 stadium lined with Damage Traps and Bouncers when used. We probably won't see this item make its way to the base game, but you can use it in Playground mode to come up with some fun custom games.

Be sure to check Epic's full patch notes for details on all that's changed, and head down to the comments section to tell us what you think of new items like the Spiky Stadium and Port-a-Fortress.
