Fortnite NFL skins show some team pride

Fortnite and the NFL have announced a new team up that will see football-themed cosmetics added to the game later this week. If you’re a big football fan, that means you’ll be able to represent your favorite team as you try to earn yourself some Victory Royales. Given that we find ourselves almost smack in the middle of the 2018 NFL regular season, it isn’t hard to imagine this becoming a pretty popular promotion among Fortnite players.

Beginning later this week, Fortnite players will have the ability to “purchase and customize up to eight outfits representing their favorite NFL teams,” according the NFL’s announcement. After you’ve purchased one of those outfits, you’ll be able to select one of the NFL’s 32 teams for your uniform and even customize your jersey with a number between 1 and 99.

Those outfits can be changed to a different team or number as often as you like, so it sounds like you only need to buy one outfit even if you’re a fan of multiple teams. The option to purchase multiple outfits seems to be one of convenience, as that’ll let you have different load outs that don’t need to be changed when you want to switch things up.

Of course, on top of the NFL team outfits, we’ll also see other football-themed cosmetics as well. These include new emotes, pickaxes, and gliders, and the NFL says there will even be a referee outfit. There’s been no word on pricing yet, but we’ll find out how much everything costs soon enough, as these new NFL items are launching later this week.

Epic says that NFL cosmetics will go live in Fortnite‘s shop on November 9 at 7 PM. We don’t know if these will be limited-time items, but we can probably expect these to hang around for at least the rest of the NFL season. What do you think of this new partnership?
