Fortnite gets even more free loot from Twitch Prime

Fortnite seems to be the game everyone is talking about at the moment, but that success isn't only benefiting Epic Games. Twitch has also been running a Prime promotion that hands out free Fortnite loot to anyone who signs up, and that has caused a lot of streamers – notably Ninja, who now holds the crown as the most popular streamer on Twitch – to see an influx of subscribers. Twitch is looking to keep the gravy train going by adding more loot to its Fortnite Twitch Prime Pack, which will be available from here on out.

For the uninitiated, here's a rundown of what you get when you sign up for Twitch Prime. In addition to granting you a free monthly subscription to any channel of your choice, Twitch Prime also offers members a plethora of in-game loot for a variety of games. Just recently, Twitch Prime sweetened the pot further by handing out a collection of free games – a promotion which will continue into April.

While anyone who's subscribed to Amazon Prime automatically gets Twitch Prime for free, it can also be purchased separately. More importantly, Amazon hands out a month of Twitch Prime for free to anyone who has never signed up before, and throughout this month, we've seen a lot of people redeem that free trial in order to cash in on the free Fortnite loot.

The hope, of course, is that those free trials turn into actual subscriptions, so Amazon is taking a rather simple approach to making sure that happens: offer more Fortnite loot. Beginning today, the company has announced, a special Instigator pickaxe will be added to the current Fortnite Twitch Prime Pack, joining the glider and two skins that were already available.

We'll see if this can tempt some subscriptions out of those who only signed up for a free trial of Twitch Prime to score some free Fortnite loot. Not only is it in Twitch's best interest to convert those trials, but it's also in many streamers' as well. Given the pretty incredible reaction we've seen to this Fortnite crossover thus far, don't be surprised to see Twitch go heavy on free loot for Twitch Prime subscribers in the future.
