Fortnite 4.3 Content Update Now Live With An Interesting New Item

Fortnite's weekly update has arrived, and it's bringing an intriguing new type of trap to Battle Royale. It isn't very often that we see traps get the lions share of attention in new Fortnite patches – usually, new guns or games modes are the headliner. In fact, up until today, only one other type of trap existed in the game.

That, of course, is the damage trap, an item many players are likely intimately familiar with by now. Though some battle hardened Fortnite vets have become adept at spotting and avoiding these retractable spike traps, they can be the bane of new players who haven't learned to examine their surroundings carefully. Now, players will have a second trap to look out for, but it may not be as immediately deadly as the damage trap is.

In the content update for Fortnite version 4.3, Epic has added the new bouncer trap. The name tells us pretty much everything we need to know about this new item, as any player who comes into contact with it will be sent flying. Place it on the floor and your enemies will be shot upward; place it on a wall, on the other hand, to launch other players horizontally.

The bounce trap doesn't just need to be used as an offensive tool, however. You can also use it as something of a launch pad stand-in to propel yourself or your friends through Fortnite's in-game world. The bouncer trap is a rare item, which means you should encounter it somewhat frequently, and it drops in stacks of three in treasure chests, supply drops, llamas, or as floor loot, so you'll find it pretty much everywhere.

Unfortunately for us, the bouncer trap is the only item being added in this week's content update. Things are fairly calm this time around, but it probably won't be long before Epic is back to releasing big content updates that add new weapons and game modes at the same time. Fortnite's newest update is live now, so hop in and have some fun with the bouncer pad.
