Ford rolls out a quartet of special edition SUVs in Texas

Trucks and SUVs are a big deal in Texas and since they are some of the most popular vehicles in the State, Ford has chosen to pull the wraps off four special edition offerings at the State Fair of Texas. The four special editions include the Expedition Stealth Edition, Expedition Texas Edition, Explorer Limited Luxury Edition, and Explorer Desert Copper Edition.

All four of the special edition vehicles will be available to order later in the year. The first is the Expedition Stealth Edition with gloss-black accessories and 22-inch black-painted wheels. This SUV includes continuously controlled damping and gloss black grille, mirror caps, roof rails, running boards, tailgate applique, rear bumper skid plate and hitch cover, and a black Limited badge. Body-color door handles and red stitching on the interior are included.

The Explorer Limited Luxury Edition has appearance upgrades over the normal Luxury edition. Buyers can get 20-inch premium painted wheels, multi-contour seats with Active Motion, Nirvana leather, upgraded leather steering wheel, leather door trim inserts, and chrome mirror caps. Explorer Desert Copper Edition is the next special edition.

This one gets upgrades to the Explorer XLT with 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, chrome mirror faps, black leather in first and second rows, and copper highlights and stitching with copper accents in the third row. The last is the Expedition Texas Edition.

That SUV gets 22-inch wheels and a Texas Edition badge. Included features are the Cargo Package, Heavy-Duty trailer tow, and enhanced active park assist. Ford hasn't announced pricing or exact availability at this time.
