Federal Funding on DTV Box Starts Now

Old timers that's still using analog box for over-the-air TV programs will have their chance to receive cash incentive of $40, up to $80 from Uncle Sam starting yesterday. If you are still in the dark on the federal regulated digital transition, you should know by February 19, 2009, all over-the-air television broadcasts are mandated to air in digital simulcast only, the analog will be history.

No worry there, the old school still can use the vintage display with the help of DTV Converter Box to convert digital signal into analog. Also, they can apply to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to obtain a $40 coupon to use toward the purchase of the convertor. Each household can apply up to two coupons for two boxes. The coupon has 90 days of expiration day once issued, so use with cautious.

Fellow readers, if you have friends or family members that can't live without their old analog box, please remind them they have till Feb. 17, 2009 to get the digital convertor box so they can still use it for the digital broadcasting. ... Or get a new digital TV. I opt for the latter.
