Fallout 4 Game of the Year Edition release date announced

These days, we can pretty much expect every Bethesda game to eventually get a Game of the Year Edition. Fallout 4 is no different, we've learned today, as it will be getting a Game of the Year release of its own next month. If you've been patient when it comes to diving into Fallout 4, then this is your reward.

As is the case with all Game of the Year Editions that eventually make it to shelves, this one will package the base Fallout 4 game together with all of the DLC released for the title. There's a lot of extra content, too: Fallout 4's Game of the Year edition will include Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, Far Harbor, Contraptions Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop, and Nuka-World.

While the "Workshop" DLCs are smaller add-ons, Nuka-World, Far Harbor, and Automatron are larger, story-based DLCs. Regardless of what we classify these pieces of downloadable content as, you're getting a lot of extra content for the price. Fallout 4's Game of the Year Edition will only cost $59.99, which is far less than what you would have paid by purchasing the base game and all of its DLC separately on release.

Bethesda has also revealed that Fallout 4's Game of the Year release will have a deluxe edition of its own. Like the deluxe edition that launched with Fallout 4 back in 2015, this one will include a physical Pip-Boy as one of the pack-in bonuses. If you missed that package the first time around – like so many people did – you might want to keep an eye out for this one.

Fallout 4 Game of the Year Edition will launch for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 26. If you want to pick up the Pip-Boy Edition, you can find it right now at Amazon and GameStop. Get ready to shell out though, because this deluxe edition is going to set you back a whopping $100.
