Epson unveils world's first 3LCD reflective tech projectors

Epson has announced the release of the world's first projectors to use 3LCD reflective technology and offer contrast ratios up to 1,000,000:1. The projectors are the PowerLite Pro Cinema 61000 and 3100 and the Home Cinema 21000. All of the new projectors have 1080p resolution and are for home theater fans.

The 21000 and 31000 both offer contrast ratio of 500,000:1 dynamic with the 61000 has the first 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The 3LCD tech allows the projectors to have the deepest black and brightest whites around. The three units also have integrated IDT HQV Vida Video Processor and a PW390 video scaler.

Other features of the new projectors include smaller footprints and power zoom and focus as well as power lens shift. The projectors have up to 1200 lumens of brightness and each have two HDMI 1.4 inputs with Deep color Support. The 61000 and 31000 will launch in December and will come with a spare lamp and ceiling mount. The 21000 will launch in December as well. Pricing is unannounced at this time.
