Eclipse TD307PAII Audiophile Desktop Speakers
These speakers from Eclipse are made to replace the crappy speakers that come with your computer. Chances are though, once you see the price tag for these speakers, you'll either look away, or decide that you'll want to upgrade your soundcard at the same time as plugging these into integrated audio would be a waste of time.
They are shaped like eggs to help them crank out the best audio possible. Crave has a pair of them in for review, and although they don't have a full review just yet, one thing they have found upon initial inspection is that they aren't that great for newer genres of music, they said that really, other than classical, opera, and acoustic guitar-based music they aren't that great.
So, unless you listen to a lot of music, and it had better be old music, you might want to spare yourself the 400-pound expense or nearly $800 USD for these speakers. Personally, I have a pair of Altec Lansing speakers, and one of them is blown so I need to replace it, but they have been the best sounding speakers I have ever had, and I don't want to get rid of them, sure they might not be audiophile quality, but they sound great.
