Echo's PowerSound speaker boasts 32 hours of playback

Portable speakers have gone wireless, and that's a good thing — you're now able to play tunes from your phone or tablet over Bluetooth, no cable tethers to be found. The downside of battery life still remains, however, and when the internal battery dies, so does the party. Enter Echo's PowerSound speaker, which has a giant battery and boasts 32 hours of playback time on a single charge — something that'll take you through an entire weekend of camping and music listening, for example. It also doubles as a power bank.

Echo looks just about like any other portable Bluetooth speaker on the market — perhaps a little less refined, depending on your tastes — but the part that matters most lies beneath the hood: a 5200 mAh battery that offers 32 hours of playback time, or less playback and enough juice to recharge your smartphone or tablet.

The power bank USB port outputs 2.1amps, which provides a faster charge than what you get from a laptop USB port. There's likewise speakerphone capabilities, which allows users to take a phone call (assuming the speaker is paired with a phone) using the integrated microphone. The device itself has two speakers, a range of 33ft., and is made from aluminum.

The company behind the speaker was seeking $10,000 USD in funding through Indiegogo, and they've so far raised more than double that with 9 days remaining in the campaign. A pledge of $49 USD will get one of the speaker at 50%+ off the eventual retail priced (shipping in the UK and US is $5USD more). Shipping is estimated to start next month.
