DROID Turbo Blurry Shots Confirm Topnotch Specs
In less than a week, we will finally be able to see for ourselves what the Verizon and Motorola have been busy with, though at this point there is almost no stone left unturned for the DROID Turbo to hide in. That said, a couple of real, non-render, but quite blurry photos of what is allegedly the actual device definitely doesn't hurt. Especially if said photos give a confirmation of most of the leaks and rumors that we've gathered so far.
As per these photos, we have verification of bits and pieces of the DROID Turbo. The "quark" in the system version, for example, was the same name that appeared in an FCC certification. We've been using the name DROID Turbo for quite a while now, but it was only this Monday that we got it indirectly from the horse's mouth via Verizon's own CSS file. That it runs Android 4.4.4 is no surprise either and it's probably a bit too much to expect that it would be running Android Lollipop out of the box. Hopefully, Motorola will include the Turbo in its promised updates once the phone is released.
Going to the specs, The photos also confirm the high 2560x1440 QHD resolution of the device. Though not indicated here, the 5.2-inch size of the display has been noted by a leaked manual. One of the details that have been most of the time left out from leaks is memory. Good thing that now we're seeing it marked at 3 GB for RAM and 32 GB for internal storage.
On the back of the device, we also see the striped cover that is expected to be of Kevlar material similar to the TURBO MAXX. There's also the dual LED flash flanking each side of the rear camera, expected to sport a rather high 21 megapixel sensor. Details not included in this leak include a massive 3,900 mAh battery that will supported by Motorola's new Turbo Charging feature.
Verizon has set 28th October as the date for unveiling the device and we'll see then just how much of a premium smartphone this DROID Turbo really is. We'll also get to see the equally premium pricing that the carrier has planned, though for something that would blow the 2014 Moto X out of the water in terms of raw features, that might just be a price that some will be willing to pay.
