Don't buy that eBay Cyberpunk 2077 jacket - patience will pay off

There's no question that Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the biggest games at E3 2019. From the reveal that Keanu Reeves will be in the game (and the appearance of Reeves himself as a hype man) to the announcement of its release date at long last, Cyberpunk 2077 definitely dominated headlines and discussion throughout the week. Now, unfortunately, it seems that some people are looking to cash in on all that hype.

If you perform a search for Cyberpunk 2077 on eBay today, you'll likely be greeted by a number of listings for a reversible bomber jacket from the game. The price for these jackets is obscenely high, with some listings surpassing $400.

It's unclear how these sellers obtained these jackets, but they were likely handed out as promotional items during E3 2019. That, of course, makes them rare and prompts certain recipients to sell them online for a tidy profit. CD Projekt Red, the developers behind Cyberpunk 2077, would like you to know that the bomber jacket isn't worth anywhere near what these eBay sellers are charging.

In a post to Twitter (which you can see above), CD Projekt Red's Rafal Jaki pleads with people to not pay $400 for the Cyberpunk 2077 jacket. He notes that the company currently plans to offer a similar version of the jacket in its store, presumably for much less. Jaki isn't able to confirm when the jacket will be available or how much it'll cost, but he says elsewhere in the thread that it'll be less than $400.

So, if you've already decided that you want to own a jacket like this, you'll definitely want to hold off until CD Projekt Red starts offering it through its store. You can, of course, buy one of these expensive jackets from E3 scalpers now, but we have a feeling that if you do, you'll be kicking yourself before long.
