Divoom Bluetune Bean speaker includes selfie button

Portable speakers are old news at this point. It is not hard to find a little Bluetooth offering to complement your on-the-go lifestyle, and so another announcement elicits little more than a yawn. What's a company to do? Try to make its product unique by including something you wouldn't ordinarily expect to find on your speaker — in Divoom's case, that is a shutter button for taking selfies. Yes, you can now take a selfie using a speaker. What a world.

This is the second-generation version of Divoom's Bluetune Bean, and while it doesn't feature a camera itself, it does have a remote shutter button on the side that can be used to trigger a selfie from up to 30ft. away — catering to that growing trend of more grown up pictures of one's self.

Connectivity comes via Bluetooth 3.0 and the integrated battery offers up to six hours of playback on a charge. The inclusion of an integrated microphone means the speaker can double as a speakerphone when connected to your smartphone, and the small size makes it svelte enough to stuff in a pocket rather than carrying around in a bag.

Both Android and iOS is supported, assuming you're running at least 4.2.2/6.0 — the maker warns that some Android devices might not work, however, and there doesn't appear to be any way to tell if your device falls into that category. The speaker is available via Amazon for $24.
