Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Comes To PS4 In January

Outside of the hardcore Final Fantasy faithful, few will remember Dissidia, the fighting game spin-off from Square Enix for the PlayStation Portable that brings together various heroes and villains from the long-running RPG series. Now the Japanese developer has announced a new console entry titled Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, coming to the PlayStation 4 in early 2018.

Square Enix reveals that Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will be released in Japan on January 11th, featuring a new 3-on-3 combat system and a roster of 20 Final Fantasy characters, including those from more recent titles, like Final Fantasy XV's protagonist Noctis. Fans in North America and Europe will be able to pick up the game on January 30th.

Along with the release date, the lineup of special and collector's editions was also revealed. As you'd expect, the standard version is priced at $60, with pre-orders getting one of three randomly selected steelbook cases featuring different heroes and villains on the front and back.

Those who prefer to go digital can pre-order the game on the PlayStation Store and receive a five-song mini soundtrack and "Nameless Warrior" skin DLC. At $85, the Digital Deluxe Edition includes the above, plus the game's season pass, which includes six DLC characters, new weapons, costumes, and other post-release content.

True Final Fantasy die-hards, however, will be most interested in the Ultimate Collector's Edition, which runs for $190 and is available exclusively on Square Enix's online store. This version of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT includes a 8.25-inch Warrior of Light bust figure, 15-song official soundtrack, 80-page hardcover art book, the game in a unique steelbook case different from the standard pre-order, and the game's season pass, all wrapped up in a fancy box.

For players who just interested in checking out the latest Dissidia game, a closed beta will run from August 25th until September 3rd, with sign-ups available on Square Enix's website through August 20th.
