Dell have unveiled two custom laptop designs courtesy of artist Mike Ming.  The special editions – called Sea Sky and Bunch O Surfers – are based on the Inspiron 1525.  As such, they’re budget models despite the glossy case graphics, albeit budget models with 3GB of RAM as standard, a minimum of 160GB hard-drive and a choice of Intel Core Duo and Core 2 Duo processors.

The range starts at $699 for the basic “Mike Ming Edition”, which packs a 1.73GHz Core Duo processor, 15.4-inch glossy display, Intel X3100 graphics and b/g WiFi.  Alternatively there’s the $799 “Mike Ming Extreme Edition”, which upgrades to a 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo and 320GB hard-drive.  Both versions have the same 1280 x 800 display and run Windows Vista Home Premium edition.

Both of the designs are available for each model of notebook.  The Mike Ming versions are available direct from Dell now.
