CyanogenMod update smashes Stagefright

This week the folks behind CyanogenMod have released their version 12.1 with an added bonus of a Stagefright fix. This update is something you're going to WANT to get as fast as possible to protect yourself from the potential evils of Stagefright and – if you're not already on Android 5.1 – an update to the perks of that bit of software. This update will not be available for all CyanogenMod-covered devices immediately, but there ARE a whole lot of devices ready to roll from the get-go.

Stagefright fixes have also been released for CyanogenMod 11 and CyanogenMod 12 – just in case you're on one of those slightly older versions of the software and can't quite upgrade to the newest version for whatever reason.

According to ciwrl of CyanogenMod, 11 and 12 builds appearing as new this week are the security releases we spoke of above. These will be popping up on top of each device list starting this week.

Head to CyanogenMod's download list to see if your device (on the left) is amongst those that've gotten an updated version of the software this week. As always, you should be downloading and loading the newest version of CyanogenMod as soon as possible.

If not for the safety of the situation, than just for the bonus features. Play ALL the audio types!
