Compaq offers up new CQ61z, 4010f, and 500B series computers

HP and Compaq have rolled out some new computer systems for shoppers on a budget. One line is aimed at business users looking to upgrade machines on the cheap. The new line of computers includes the Compaq CQ61z notebook, the Presario 4010f desktop, and the 500B series desktop computers.

The CQ61z notebook has a piano black finish with silver panels. The machine is designed for budget notebook shoppers and has a 15.6-inch screen, 6-cell battery and a price of only $399 after a $100 instant savings good from October 18 to December 19. Specs on the machine aren't offered, but don't expect much at that price.

The Presario 4010f is a desktop system with AMD Sempron CPU, NVIDIA integrated graphics, and a 250GB HDD. The machine starts at $309. The Compaq 500B series includes the 500B with Intel power and the 505B with AMD CPUs. Both machines run Windows 7 and are aimed at business users with a variety of options. The AMD-powered machine starts at $359 and the 500B starts at $409. All of the machines will be available by October 22.
