Build-A-Bear Workshop shows off new Kinect enabled bears

I have quite the love/hate relationship with Build-A-Bear Workshop. That place is 6-year-old girl nirvana so each time we go to the mall I have to keep the place well out of the line of site for my daughter. The little bears are cute, but the bill adds up quickly because apparently bears can't be purchased without the proper ensemble and accessories to go with it. Build-a-Bear Workshop and Microsoft are working together to promote the new Kinectimals Now with Bears game.

Some of the bears that you buy in the store are Kinect enabled. The bears have a Kinectimals tag on them that you can scan with the Kinect and then the bear appears in the game for kids and adults to play as their character. The special edition bears work just like the other animals in the game allowing for exploring and the bear mimics the player as you expect.

To start there are four bears that are Kinect enabled in the store. The bears include Champ – A Champion Fur Kids, Colorful Hearts Bear, Endless Hearts Teddy, and Peace & Hearts Bear. Some locations around the country will have the Kinectimals now with Bears games in store to show kids what they can do. The special bears and games will be offered in the UK as well.
