B&O Play Beolit 17 wireless speaker boasts more power than '15' model

Bang & Olufsen's B&O Play has unveiled the latest model in its Beolit line of wireless speakers, the Beolit 17. This model boasts more power than the previous Beolit 15 model, and brings with it what the company describes as 'distinct cool Scandinavian style.' The speaker is being offered in two different color options, Stone Grey and Natural, and it is launching across more than half a dozen countries.

The Beolit 17 speaker was designed by Cecilie Manz, according to B&O Play; it is designed to function through 'the rigors of everyday life,' doing so thanks to the use of durable polymer in the construction. The speaker is portable and can be used on-the-go for durations up to 24 hours, and it has a leather handle to make that easier.

The Beolit 17 features an upper non-slip tray with scratch resistance where users can place their smartphone during use. The design is joined by an anodized pearl-blasted aluminum speaker grill, a one-touch connect button, and four functions.

The first of those four functions is an alarm that can be configured in the related Beoplay App. Pressing the connect button will snooze the alarm, while two presses with deactivate it. There's also a Connect function for quickly connecting to Spotify. There's a remote function for pausing and playing audio or skipping the track. And finally, there's a ToneTouch function for playing a preset.

The Beolit 17 is available now for $499 USD.
