Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 concept – A deeper look into the car [Video]

Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 concept – A deeper look into the car [Video]

We knew Rolls-Royce was showing off its Vision Next 100 concept in London, but we were thoroughly unprepared for what we saw. Taking a different approach than parent BMW did with its Vision Next 100 concept, Rolls tried to imagine what the super-luxury clientele of the future would want, versus the performance-minded enthusiast that BMW has traditionally appealed to.

Millions worth in Lamborghini supercars gathering [Video]

Millions worth in Lamborghini supercars gathering [Video]

Lamborghini is easily among the most alluring supercar makers, and when dozens of Italian bulls gather in one place, it makes for quite a theatrical sight. We recently spent a day with Lamborghini, and a Southern California-based Lambo owners club. While we got to stretch a Huracán LP 580-2’s legs in the canyons around Malibu—more on that on SlashGear soon—it was witnessing the ultra-rare collection of so many glorious Italian supercars in one place that continues to resonate.

Close up with the Volvo 40.1 and 40.2 Concepts: 2018’s XC40 and S40

“I think we’re all fed up with it,” says Volvo’s senior VP of design, Thomas Ingenlath. We’re at Volvo’s design studio at its Torslanda headquarters—a typically sleek building amid a typically woodsy Scandinavian surrounding outside of the typically Swedish city of Gothenburg—and Volvo has just unveiled the 40.1 and 40.2 concepts, effectively the 2018 Volvo XC40 and S40 (maybe, more on that later). Immediately this was clear: there is nothing typical about them.

McLaren 675LT Spider First Drive

McLaren 675LT Spider First Drive

I’m piercing the Scottish idyll in the McLaren 675LT Spider, and 25 feet to either side I imagine observant lichen rattle in the wake of the LT’s turbulence, smugly impressed before reverting to their simple-life ways. Only a road definitively signals that man has actually been here before, and in this setting one could plausibly argue that asphalt is a natural phenomenon.

Volvo will be unveiling its future small car concepts in just a few days, but before the big reveal, the Swedes are teasing images on Snapchat. 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet and S63 AMG Cabriolet First Drive

2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet and S63 AMG Cabriolet First Drive

Low-speed cruising down the Promenade des Anglais in the Mercedes-Benz S550 Cabriolet we’re a spectacle, as well we should be — top-down, sun ricocheting off 14-spoke 20-inch AMG wheels, two figures lounging back in white Nappa leather Designo seats with pillow-top headrests. I’d look at us, too.

EXCLUSIVE: Ferrari Fiorza Spied, “Volume Model” Signals Toyota Cooperation

Our first spy shots of the new Ferrari Fiorza give us an excellent window into Maranello’s "volume model." While Ferrari has acknowledged that a more accessibly-priced model was in the works, this naked-Fiorza sighting in a Hollywood garage leaves no doubt about the automaker’s wider ambitions.

All the silk has all been officially slipped, the cars are under New York’s bright lights, and automakers from around the globe have turned out to take a last opportunity — at least for a few months — to showcase their most recent efforts on a grand stage. Our team was on the ground and we’ve got all of the highlights of what went down during the press days, and if you can’t make it to New York, our extensive galleries, coverage, and videos are the next best thing, maybe even better.

Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing to make world’s fastest car

Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing have just made public an alliance to build the world’s foremost land-missile on four wheels. Hyper-hyper car? What can you call it exactly? There are cars, and then there are sports cars. Going up the chain, the most advanced sports cars reach that upper echelon, and achieve supercar status. But there is one level higher, still. Or was, until today.

2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet & Mercedes-AMG C43 Cabriolet First Look in Geneva

Mercedes-Benz’s most important car line just swelled with two new models tonight, with the reveal of the 2017 C-Class Cabriolet, and Mercedes-AMG C43 Cabriolet here ahead of the first day of the Geneva International Motor Show. We were early fans of the class-leading interior of the new C300, and now the bread and butter line is adding topless and performance models that will arrive in the U.S. later this year.
