Audi TT third-generation sports car celebrates the TT's 20th anniversary

Audi has unveiled the third-generation of its iconic TT sports car. This third-generation model is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the TT model that launched back in 1998. Audi says for the new TT it has enhanced performance and extended the standard equipment the car offers.

TT buyers now get the Audi virtual cockpit. Even the most basic TT now has the Audi select dynamic handling system, rain, and light sensors, heated outside mirrors, multifunction steering wheel plus, and an infotainment system with voice control. Illuminated USB ports are standard along with Bluetooth on the entire TT range.

Audi has eliminated the tank cap under the tank opening so there is no fiddling with a gas cap at fill up. Headlights are offered with LED or Matrix LED technology as an option and the TT features dynamic turn signals. TT buyers can now get an optional S line exterior package that has a full-length front splitter, vertical air inlets, and radiator grille in black. S line also gets specific side sills and inserts with a sportier rear end.

TT Coupe and TT Roadster share the same dimensions at 13.7-feet long. The wheelbase is 8.2-feet and standard wheels are 17-inch units with optional 18, 19, and 20-inch wheels. The new TT also has three new paint colors with cosmos blue, pulse orange, and turbo blue. The latter color is S line only. Audi offers three gas engines with different performance levels with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch option. Audi isn't talking about power figures or performance currently.

All dash indicators are in digital form on the 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit with classic mode and infotainment modes. On-board LTE is offered and an optional 680W Bang & Olufsen audio system is available. TT Roadster has a soft top available in black or gray and is electrically operated. The car will launch in Europe in Q4 starting at 35,000 euro for the TT Coupe and 37,500 euro for the Roadster. There is no word on pricing or availability outside of Europe.
