AT&T Unlimited Wireless Plans Are Back, With A Catch
It's been a while since AT&T subscribers had an "unlimited" option. The company did away with their unlimited data plans a few years back, much to the disappointment of customers. In a surprise move, the company is bringing it back, but with one small catch.
Today, AT&T announced that they would be once again offering their Unlimited Plan to anyone who has both wireless service, and either a DirectTV or U-verse subscription. The move appears to be an obvious move to get more TV subscribers in an age where more and more people are cutting the cord. The price of the Unlimited Plan will be $100 for one line, and $40 for each one after that.
Interestingly enough, they will give you the fourth line for free. So that would make the price just $180 a month for four lines with unlimited talk, text, and data. Of course, you still have to factor in the price of your TV service, as well.
One of my favorite parts of the announcement was the following line: "Our new unlimited plan and, in fact, all of our plans offer high-quality video streaming with no compromises in video quality and no forced lessening of video resolution." This is clearly a jab at T-Mobile, who has been automatically downgrading YouTube videos to 480p for their customers.
If you're wanting to take advantage of the new Unlimited Plan from AT&T, you will be able to do so starting tomorrow, January 12, 2016.
