Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition updated with faster Intel chip

It's only been a couple months since we first talked about the Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition smartphone. Despite only having been around for a couple months, Asus has already upgraded the device to give it a slightly faster processor.

The new version of the device has a 2.5GHz quad-core processor compared to the 2.3GHz unit in the device we talked about in November. The 128GB of internal storage remains the same, you have the option to add another 128GB microSD card to double the storage size.

That faster processor is also paired with 4GB of RAM and power comes from a large 3000mAh internal battery. The rear covers are removable with a Drift Silver cover with lots of facets to it or Carbon Night with a carbon fiber look.

The 2.5GHz processor is a 64-bit part and an Intel Atom Z3590 GPU handles graphics. The phone supports LTE and runs Android L for the operating system. It has a 5.5-inch screen and 802.11ac wireless networking. The big battery has BoostMaster tech that allows it to be charged up to 60% in 39 minutes. Pricing and availability are unannounced at this time.
