ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ gaming monitor is DisplayHDR 1000 certified

ASUS Republic of Gamers has announced ROG Swift PG27UQ, a gaming monitor featuring NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR, a 144Hz refresh rate, and more. The new monitor is targeted specifically at gamers, bringing with it a typical "gaming" design complete with customizable lighting features. The company plans to launch the model next month, but has detailed all the features ahead of time.

The ROG Swift monitor measures 27-inches and is said to be the first of its kind to feature DisplayHDR 1000 certification. Such a designation ensures users get true HDR support, and the top tier quality among that certification class.

In addition to HDR, the monitor boasts a 4K Ultra HD resolution, the aforementioned lighting features called ROG Light Signal and Light Signature, plus there's an integrated light sensor for automatic brightness adjustments.

As mentioned, the PG27UQ features G-SYNC tech, which means users can expect incredibly smooth gameplay without tearing or lagging issues. The model likewise boasts 1000cd/m2 peak brightness, an LED backlight that dynamically controls a total of 384 zones, and factory color calibration.

Overall, the new monitor has 99-percent Adobe RGB coverage and 97-percent DCI-P3. Other features include quantum dot tech, life-like luminance, lighting effect projections onto a desktop surface, and an adjustable stand. The new Swift model will be available late next month for $1,999.99 USD.
