ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Shell poses for press shots
We're still waiting to get some hands-on shots with the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Shell at CeBIT, but until then the official press shots of this super-slinky netbook will keep us ticking over. ASUS are making it very clear that this isn't the launch of the 1008HA, only its first unveil, but that's certainly enough to make us want one.
Inside the 1-inch thick chassis there's optional 3.5G WWAN connectivity and WiMAX, but no conclusive word from the company on what exact hardware specifications we can expect. Despite the size and weight – just 2.4lbs – there's a keyboard that's 92-percent of full-size, together with a multitouch trackpad.
The "Shell" name comes from the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA's case finish, which is not only pearlescent but has a slightly textured finish, reminiscent say ASUS of a shell. The company is keeping quiet on official release dates and pricing, but we'd expect this to follow in the footsteps of the Eee PC S101 with a somewhat premium tag.
