Arrested Development Season 5, Part Two hits Netflix next month

Beloved sitcom Arrested Development will return to Netflix on March 15, bringing the second half of Season 5. Referred to as Part Two, this new batch will include eight episodes that'll be available to all Netflix subscribers globally. The new episodes join the first batch of Season 5 that was released by Netflix nearly one year ago.

This is the first time Netflix has confirmed when the new batch of episodes will debut, leaving fans with only a few weeks before they can stream the rest of Season 5. The new episodes follow Season 5's first eight episodes, which were released in late May 2018.

Arrested Development is now considered a Netflix Original due to the streaming service's revival of the show. The series originally premiered on Fox back in 2003, running until 2006 before being cancelled. During its short run, the show amassed a dedicated fan base, resulting in Netflix picking it up for a fourth season in 2013.

Fans had mixed reactions to the new season, which had to accommodate the busy schedules of the show's now largely popular cast. The first half of Season 5 arrived in 2018 amid controversy surrounding cast member Jeffrey Tambor, who was fired from Amazon's series Transparent following sexual harassment allegations.

After a long delay, Netflix is finally ready to release Season 5B, which will follow the Bluth family and its various troubles. The first half's plot line involving a wall at the Mexico-America border will carry into the next eight episodes, plus Buster is dealing with a murder trial and "Tobias becomes a Golden Girl," according to Netflix.
