AMD Activate! game development curriculum teaches game design at Beijing middle school

Most of us probably remember middle school and recall that one of the most important things was picking the easiest classes with the teachers that were nice, not the mean teachers who seemed to get off on failing students. AMD has announced that its Activate! Game development curriculum has been adopted by a Beijing middle school.

That would have to be one of the coolest classes to take in middle school. The school that is using the curriculum is called Dandelion Middle School and the class is targeted to kids 13 to 15 years old. The class consists of four one-week long workshops to tech game design using Activate! game development tools from AMD.

AMD claims that the curriculum helps kids to improve critical science, technology engineering, and math skills. The class also promises to allow kids to develop games with social content allowing them to be more conscious citizens.
