Amazon 4-star retail store opens near Denver, Colorado

Last month, Amazon announced the opening of a new retail store called Amazon 4-star. Now, only a few weeks later, it has opened a second retail store and revealed the destination for its third upcoming opening. The new store is located in a small municipality near Denver, Colorado, and the third store will soon open in Berkley, California, according to the company.

Amazon 4-star is a new type of store for the online retailer; it provides a brick-and-mortar destination for customers to browse and purchase highly rated items from the company. Everything offered for sale in Amazon 4-star has at least a four star rating on Amazon.com.

The store also features some items that are new and trending on the website and that are from top sellers. Items span many categories, including things like electronics, kitchen items, games, and things for one's home. As expected, the stores are also used to sell Amazon's own devices, such as the Echo.

The second Amazon 4-star location has opened in Lone Tree, Colorado, which is located near Denver. According to the city's local CBS affiliate, the retail location is a substantial 4,000sqft, approximately a third of which is reserved for electronic gadgets.

There is a bit of difference over the New York store, according to the report, and it makes sense. The Lone Tree destination offers outdoor and sports items not available at the Manhattan destination, those no doubt targeted at the outdoorsy folks who live in and around Denver. It's unclear when the Berkley, California destination will open.
