Acer TravelMate P4 Windows 10 Pro laptop launches in the U.S.

The Acer TravelMate P4 laptop is now available in the United States, the company has announced. The model is offered in both 14-inch and 15.6-inch sizes, both running Windows 10 Pro and sporting security features like a fingerprint reader and a smart card reader. Says Acer, it designed the TravelMate P4 to be tough enough for someone who frequently travels, including 'rigorous' testing across categories like humidity, vibrations, and more.

The Acer TravelMate P4 doesn't target the thinnest sizes or the sexiest designs, instead focusing on the needs of serious users who spend a lot of time on the road or in the air (though it is still quite thin at 0.8-inches). The laptop's lid can be folded back 180-degrees, while the display itself can be had at resolutions up to 1920 x 1080.

According to Acer, the P4 features battery life up to 8 hours per charge, and features 'corporate-level features' that include a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 chip, the company's own ProShield Manager, support for Windows Hello, and Acer Office Manager. This makes the TravelMate P4 suitable for business workers, individuals working in government and healthcare, and more.

Other features include anti-glare ComfyView tech on the display, an LED backlit keyboard (which is itself chiclet style), a Precision Touchpad, up to 8GBs of DDR4 memory, up to a 256GB SSD, a 720p webcam with HDR support, and 802.11ac WiFi. Ports include a USB-C port, as well as HDMI and an optional USB-C dock. The laptop is available now starting at $649 USD.
