Acer TravelMate B115P offers Windows 8.1 fanless touch

Acer has outed its latest ultraportable, the TravelMate B115P, managing to fit in a touchscreen, ten hour battery life, and a full-sized keyboard into a fanless chassis. Targeting students and mobile workers, the TravelMate B115P – and its non-touch B115 sibling – has an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display and measures 21.2mm thick, with aluminum trim on the top.

Inside, there's an Intel Celeron dualcore processor and 4GB of memory, along with a 500GB hard-drive.

Acer calls its design language FlowCurve, though the notebook isn't quite as skinny as some ultraportables we've seen. Still, it's a balance with price and still fitting in touch support, which while Windows 8.1 has improved things for keyboard/trackpad use, Microsoft's OS nonetheless prefers.

Elsewhere, there's an HD webcam with support for HDR video, and Acer's own digital scrapbooking tools for taking screenshots using touch, and subsequently organizing them.

The Acer TravelMate B115P will hit the UK in early July, priced at £349 ($588). US availability has not been confirmed yet.
