2020 Maserati Levante Trofeo Gallery

Body of a crossover, but heart of a Ferrari. If you're insistent on having a Maranello engine and a brand new car, the 2020 Maserati Levante Trofeo is the most affordable way to do it. That's relatively speaking, mind: this is still a $150k small SUV.

The allure is the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8, with its 580 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. Maserati pairs it with an 8-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and a limited slip differential. Air suspension is standard, too, along with 22-inch wheels and oversized brakes.

Outside, it looks as good as it sounds. Big grille, squinting lights, and some brash brightwork to counter the carbon fiber. Inside, there's a little too much Fiat Chrysler parts-bin raiding to meet the price tag, frankly. Question is, is that enough to distract you from how this supercar-hearted crossover drives and sounds.
